Migrate

Move in stages. Keep a way back.

Moving a company’s mail is a project people worry about for good reason. The migration wizard in the FLO Console turns it into five stages with progress for every person and a rollback that works until day 30.

What the wizard does, week by week

  1. Week 0

    Inventory and a safety copy

The wizard counts mailboxes and their sizes, groups, aliases, forwarding rules and files shared outside the company. An export of everything is taken as a safety copy. Every person and alias is created in the new Console.

  2. Weeks 1 and 2

A pilot with a few people

Five or so people use it for real. Mail delivery stays exactly where it is and copies of their mail arrive in both places, so nobody misses anything. The first full copy of mail and files starts in the background.

  3. Week 3

    Nightly copies for everyone

Everyone’s mail, calendar, contacts and files are copied and then kept current each night. Sending is warmed up gradually so that mail from your domain keeps landing in inboxes.

  4. Cutover weekend

    The switch

A final copy, then mail delivery for your domain is switched. On Monday people sign in with a code sent to their phone and set up a passkey on the next screen.

  5. Days 1 to 30

Settling in, with a way back

Groups and auto replies are checked, delivery is tested every day and your old data is kept for 30 days. Until day 30 the rollback is one button in the Console.

The rollback is part of the product

Until day 30, one button points mail delivery back to where it was and copies anything that arrived in the meantime back with it. Nobody has to rebuild an account from a runbook in a hurry. The Console shows it as an action with a clear result, the same as any other.

Questions people ask before a move

What moves?
Mail with its folders, calendars, contacts, files, groups, aliases, forwarding and auto replies.
From Google Workspace
Documents can stay where they are. Google’s free plan keeps Docs, Sheets and Slides working, so a move of mail does not force a change of office tools.
From Microsoft 365 or another host
The guided move is built for Google Workspace first. If you are on Microsoft 365 or another host, book a demo and we will plan the move with you against your own setup.
Someone cannot move yet
They keep their old account for now and their mail is forwarded to it. They move later, one person at a time.
Will our mail still arrive?
Delivery for your domain does not move until the sending checks have passed every day for a week. After the move, delivery is tested daily and the Console alerts when anything slips.
How do people sign in on day one?
With a code sent to their verified phone, then a passkey on the next screen. From then on the passkey is the way in.
